Rita J. Holz, 82, Loretto, passed away on December 9, 2025 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by family. Born on March 11, 1943 in Spangler, daughter of Othmar and Ruth (Little) Ropp. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandy Brawley. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard H. Holz; children, Krista Holz, Richard (Amy) Holz, and John (Faith) Holz; grandchildren, Richard, Eric (Nina), Amelia, Bethany, Guinevere, and Lincoln Holz; siblings, Margie (Wayne) Harpster, Jim (Donna) Ropp, Dolores (Paul) Sasway, Chuck (Linda) Ropp, Linda (Al) Pittsinger, Earl (Aileen) Ropp, Pat (Peg) Ropp, Paul (Joyce Ann) Ropp, Joyce (John) Kline, Jane (Ken) Farabaugh; brother-in-law, Jim Brawley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was a graduate of Harmony High School and was a homemaker. She served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the Carrolltown American Legion Post 506. She also volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul. Rita enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, canning, and everything about the outdoors, especially spending time on their land. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., 1004 Fifth Ave, Patton, Pa 16668. A funeral mass will be held on Monday December 15, 2025 at 10 am at St. Michael’s Basilica Church, 321 St. Mary’s St. Loretto PA 15940.
