Obituary For Paul R. Cihan

Paul R. “Butch -ie -er” “Paulsy” Cihan, 78, Patton passed away May 18, 2025, at Haida Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 18, 1947, in Spangler the son of Raymond “Rum” and Mary Eleanor (Long) Cihan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Irvin John (Agnes “Mimi” Cairns) Long; paternal grandparents Peter (Mary Kasperkovich) Cihan; infant brother Jeffrey Allen on 10/6/1952, aunts, uncles, cousins, special cousin Jill (Anderson) Banik, father and mother-in-law Charles “Whitey” (Margaret “Peg” Bobick) Gresko; sister-in-law Marlene (Gresko) Price; former brother-in-law David Fisanick and loving pets Jigs, Oliver and Shunky. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Elizabeth “Liz” Marie (Gresko) Cihan “So they were no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together let no one separate” Matthew 19:6; daughter Brandy Marie “Doozie” (Peter Edward) Evans, Middleton, FL “father gives us two great things. One is roots, the other is wings”; twin grandchildren Quinn Lux and Sloan Pax Evans; sister-in-law Mary Anne (Edward Lynn) Leonard; nephews, Christopher, Jonathan, Sean; brother-in-law Tom Price; niece Gretchen Marie (Jon) Shub; great nephews Jack Thomas and Henry Charles Shub; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Paul attended St. Mary’s Elementary Parochial School in Patton, was a 1965 graduate of Cambria Heights and a 1967 graduate of Cambria Rowe Business College receiving an associate’s degree in accounting. He was a self-employed Accountant and owner of PRC Accounting until his retirement in 2021. He had also previously retired from Cowher, Nehrig and Co. Paul was a member of Queen of Peace Church, Patton American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, Slovak Club, Hasting Moose Lodge and Hastings Fireman’s Club. He loved his wife, child, grandchildren, his job, pool, darts and reading books. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm Monday, May 26, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Queen of Peace Church, Patton by Benedictine Fathers. Committal at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Elizabeth Cihan.
