Obituary For Mary E. Karlheim

Mary E. Karlheim, 92, Patton, passed away January 31, 2024 at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 23, 1931 in Altoona, Pa and will forever be 19, the daughter of Frank and Martina (Miller) Donaldson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “J. J.” Karlheim, whom she married October 26, 1957; son David Charles, in infancy, brother, Hugh J. Donaldson and twin sister, Anna Katherine in infancy. She is survived by children: Elaine A. (Ronald W.) Allison, Bedford; William J. Karlheim, Canton, OH; Stephen J. (Brenda) Karlheim, Loretto; Daniel F. (Sandy) Karlheim, Carrolltown; Janet L. (Duane) Bender, Ashville; Ronald E. Karlheim, Patton; Robert A. Karlheim, Chest Springs; Nancy (Eric) White, Dysart; James E. Karlheim, Chest Springs; 24 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; sister in law, Magdaline Donaldson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She worked as a secretary for Penelec and Standard Supply. Mary was a lifelong farm wife and mother who was devoted to her family. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton and the Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flowers (especially African Violets), the color red, baking and having her family together. At Mary’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, by Benedictine Fathers. Committal St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for masses at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Patton.     Sincere condolences to family, friends and all loved ones. Hugs, love and prayers for all. Jim and Mary were neighbors for many years and their kids were friends of our family and spent time with us growing up. May God grant her eternal rest as well as strength and comfort to her family.
