Obituary For Kenneth F. Semelsberger

Kenneth F. Semelsberger, 75, Patton, passed away January 8, 2025 at Windber Hospice. He was born October 23, 1949 in Spangler the son of Wilfred and Wilda (Shubert) Semelsberger. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his half-sister Sandy McConnell, half-brother Danny Semelsberger and brother Larry Semelsberger. He is survived by his wife Irene (Balon) Semelsberger whom he married July 3, 1971; children Heidi (William) Dow, Patton; Ali (John) Latoche, Patton; Hans (Karen) Semelsberger, Latrobe; Shawn (Dawn) Semelsberger, Ebensburg; Shane (Melissa) Semelsberger, Latrobe; grandchildren Shane, Cassandra, Kaitlyn, Emily, Tristan, Addison, Austin, Mya, Kara, Makenzy, Jade Irene; sisters Judy Harris, Hastings; Virginia Cann, Thomas Mills; Lynn Sizemore ; Babbette Groffe; half-brother Robert Semelsberger, N. Cambria and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was a disabled and retired coal miner. He was a lifetime member of the Hastings VFW Post and United Mine Workers Assoc. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking. Family and friends will be received Wednesday January 15, 2025 from 1 pm until the 3 pm funeral service at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 N. Fifth Ave. Patton. Benedictine Father officiating. Committal St Mary’s Cemetery, Patton. Memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Full Military Rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.     when Ken was in Vietnam he called home one time ,and when I answered the phone, hearing his voice made me cry so much that I could not talk to him.I missed my big brother so much.
