Joan A. Holtz passed away December 2, 2020 at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by Parents, Husband Don Holtz, Daughter Barb Bearer, Brother Ken Roberts and her faithful and furry companion “Luke”. Survived by sister-in-law Fran Roberts of Point Pleasant NJ, Brother-in-law Ken Holtz and wife Carol of Patton PA; Brother-in-law Bill Holtz of Ebensburg PA; Sister-in-law Kathie Johnson and Husband Ron of Carrolltown PA; Sister-in-law Linda Miller and husband Bill Steiner of Ocean View DE; Bother-in-law Gery Holtz of Carrolltown PA; Sister-in-law Joyce Eckenrode and husband Ken of Carrolltown PA and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Joan was born on March 11, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. She was a proud Mohawk Indian whose family hailed from the Kahnawake Reservation outside Quebec, Canada. Her love of her Native American ancestry was apparent in every aspect of her life. Joan retired from the Cambria County Court house where she worked 30 years for the District Attorney. Don and Joan enjoyed many years at Glendale year-round with family and friends. She was a very active member of the Patton Moose, avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved spending time with her “golden girls”. Joan was a faithful member of the St. Lazarus Church in St. Lawrence PA. Funeral service will be held graveside at the St. Lazarus church cemetery in St. Lawrence PA on Saturday December 5, 2020 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers please send a donation in honor of her soul mate “Luke” to the Cambria County Human Society 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown PA 15904.
