Jerome H. Humphrey, Sr., Patton passed away September 19, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born November 10, 1945, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Howard and Mary Humphrey of Patton.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Janice M. (Beckwith) Humphrey. Jerry and Janice were high school sweethearts and were married on May 21, 1966. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together, building a life centered around love, family, and faith. Jerry was a loving and caring husband who remained devoted to Janice throughout their life together.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from August 1963 through August 1969, attaining the rank of E-6. His time in the Coast Guard also helped foster a lifelong interest in radio communications. He remained active in amateur radio throughout his life.

Jerry was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He retired from the United Mine Workers and later retired from state employment at the Hiram G. Andrews Center.

Education was important to Jerry, and he believed that it was never too late to continue learning. Later in life, he proudly earned an Associate degree in Electronic Technology from Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, an accomplishment that meant a great deal to him.

Jerry had a natural curiosity and a love for working with his hands. Many evenings could find him in the basement, putzing with electronics, working on a project, or figuring out how something worked. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and amateur "HAM" radio, interests that remained a part of his life for many years.

Above all, Jerry loved and cherished his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and took great joy in being an active part of their lives. Their accomplishments, activities, and time spent together meant a great deal to him.

Jerry is survived by his three children, Jerome H. Humphrey Jr. of Indiana; Jennifer Novella and her husband, Ed, of Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania; and Joseph Humphrey and his wife, Sherry, of Elysburg, Pennsylvania.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian Humphrey spouse Kelsey, Evan Novella spouse Cassidy, Aaron Novella fiancé Kara, Jerome “Trae” H. Humphrey III, Rowen Humphrey; granddaughter Reese Humphrey; and his great-granddaughter, Nyla Humphrey.

Jerry is also survived by his sister, Judith Conedera of Texas, widow of the late Robert Conedera.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, John Humphrey, and John's wife, Janet, of Patton.

Jerry was a devoted man of faith and a loving and thoughtful person who cared deeply for those around him. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the values he passed along, and the kindness he showed others throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by Janice, his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends will be received from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm Friday, September 25, 2026 at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 North Fifth Avenue, Patton, Pa 16668. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2026 at Trinity Anglican Church of Patton, by The Rev. Harold P. Hicks. Committal, Fairview Cemetery, Patton.

Full military rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.
