Obituary For James M. "Bart" Risbon

James M. “Bart” Risbon

January 16, 1951 – March 20, 2026

James M. “Bart” Risbon, 75, Patton, passed away Friday at James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.

Bart was born in Colver, son of the late Bernard F. “Bun” Risbon and Doris (Bloom) Risbon.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Becky Mizerak of Homer City; two brothers: Jeffrey T. Risbon (Martha) of Phillipsburg and David P. Risbon of Huntingdon; and several nieces and nephews.

Bart was preceded in death by brothers: Patrick G. and B. Joseph Risbon.

He was a 1968 graduate of Cambria Heights High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Bart was a US Navy veteran of Vietnam having been an electronics and cryptographic technician.

He retired as a self-employed computer technician.

Bart was a member of Patton Moose, Patton Eagles, and American Legion Post 614.

He enjoyed coin collecting, fly fishing, tying flies, working on computers, playing guitar and banjo, and cooking.

He was especially proud to be bilingual, being fluent in Spanish.

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until a 11 a.m. funeral service, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Stevens Funeral Home, 1004 N. Main Street, Patton, PA 16668 with Fr. Ananias OSB officiating, with full military rites.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904 in Bart’s memory.
