Obituary For James H. Chirdon

James H. Chirdon, 80, Hastings, formerly of Patton passed away November 16, 2020 at Haida Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born December 20, 1939 in Patton, the son of Alfonce and Mycletta (Wills) Chirdon. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine (Simon) Chirdon, whom he married August 30, 1968; children James Chirdon, Patton, John (April) Chirdon, Cresson; two step grandchildren Isaac and Emma and several nieces and nephews. James was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He retired as a coal miner after many years of service and previously worked maintenance at Laurel Crest Manor and as a security guard at Mount Aloysius College. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton. At James’s request all services will be private. Committal St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton.     Jim was one of the Klondike kids and grew up without electricity or running water but thrived on the freedom of living in the woods and was his mother's youngest caregiver. We played music into the twilight by the coal oil lamp on the kitchen table. May he rest in peace.
