Condolences

Diane, Shawn & Dave, and the entire Howard Snyder, Jr. family: Marsha and I send our sincerest condolences on the passing of your patriarch, Howard. I would have loved the privilege of getting to know him; for through Diane and Shawn we heard wonderful things a man--one of the "Greatest Generation" who contributed so much of their lives to literally save the planet from the "maddest" of madmen in a multitude of wars throughout the 20th century. Known; too, as a man of great faith, he would have been a great source of inspirational conversations about his faith journey in relation to the period of history in which he lived. Having known Diane and the wonderful person she says so much about her Dad. As we grieve his passing, instead of flowers, Marsha and I have arranged for the offering of three Masses for the repose of Howard's soul. A card with the dates of the Masses will be forwarded to Diane's Pensacola home. We are sorry that we are unable to personally attend the funeral. As Howard's mortal remains are blessed before transport to his final resting place, a chant will rise up to God on his behalf, "In Paradisum..." "May the angels lead you into Paradis; may the martyrs receive you at your arrival and lead you to the Holy City, Jerusalem. May choirs of angels receive you and with Lazarus, once a poor man, may you have eternal rest!" May Christ's glorious Peace, Comfort, and eternally encompassing love remain with you all always and in all ways. May he rest in Peace. Amen!

Aunt Pat, Dan, Dave & Diane I have been sitting here trying to come up with the right words to say. The truth is, I can't. There is nothing I could ever say to make this time easier for you. He will always be here in our memories. Uncle Howard was a fun. I will never forget the fun times when we were kids and he tied all of our sleds together and towed us behind his jeep.

Uncle, You are missed and loved. Your laugh and smile I carry with me now. I know you are at peace while we wait for our reunion with you and all of our family who have gone before us preparing for us to come home when God calls. You legacy lives on through your children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Through your family and extended. Your love for all and sense of humor and wisdom will guide us all. I love you Uncle! I'll always remember my "first flight" certificate! Ground control are you there. 🙂
