Obituary For Francis T. "Fran" Benosky

Francis T. “Fran” Benosky, 79, Ebensburg, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at home after an extended illness. He was born in Spangler, the son of Chester and A. Nancy (Mandrick) Banasik (Benosky). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Robuck. He is survived by his brother, Edward Benosky, Ebensburg; brother-in-law Michael Robuck, Altoona; nieces, Tania (John) Waclawski, Wilkes-Barre; Renee Diehl, Altoona; nephews, Michael (Amy) Robuck, Gibsonia and Mark (Heather) Robuck, Denton, MD. He was a graduate of Cambria Heights and was a member of the 173rd Army Air Bourne division during the Vietnam War. Fran received his bachelor’s degree from the Penn State University and his master’s degree from University of Pittsburgh. He retired as a Physical Education Teacher from Westmont Hilltop Middle School after 30 years of service. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Patton. There will be no viewing. A service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, by V. Rev. Alexander Cadman. Interment will be at SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Patton. Full military rights will be accorded by local veterans organizations.
