Obituary For Dorothy M. Sheehan

Dorothy M. Sheehan, 92, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Patton passed away December 2, 2022 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She was born February 28, 1930 in Patton, the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Chverchko. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick J. Sheehan; three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by children: James (Jayne) Sheehan, Patton; Judy (Roger) Royer, Williamsburg, PA; Sandra (Dr. Scott) Magley, Ebensburg; A. Joseph (Jayne) Sheehan, New Wilmington; Kevin (Kelly) Sheehan, Jacksonville, FL; Janice A. (Tony) Green, Fairfax, VA; Denise M. (Matt) Strosser, Charlotte, NC; sixteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Dorothy was a graduate of Patton High School and retired from Butterick in Altoona after many years of service. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing cards, attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, reading and sewing. At Dorothy’s request, visitation will be private. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton by Benedictine Fathers. Committal Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.     Aunt Dot was the sweetest, nicest person with a great family. So many great memories of the farm and my PA cousins! She is now with her loving Uncle Pat. Sending my prayers and comfort for the family.

    Dorothy was Joe and Ev Sheehan's favorite daughter in law and her kids (all of you) were the light in their lives. In a time long ago, we were privileged to share in the joy of sharing good times with their young growing family. May she and Pat rest in peace.
