Obituary For Cyril M. "Lefty" Legros

Cyril “Lefty” M. Legros, 92, Patton, lifelong outdoorsman and avid hunter, passed away October 19, 2022 at Haida Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 6, 1930 in St. Boniface, the son of Noel and Pauline (Lechene) Legros. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth “Betty” (Zakowsky) Legros, brothers and sisters: James, Francis, August, Albert, Pauline Syktich and Catherine Angelo. He is survived by his loving children: Victoria (Joseph) Dautlick, Patton; Lawrence (LouAnn) Legros, Patton; grandchildren: Jennifer (Andrew) Markle, Glen Campbell; Benjamin Legros, Patton; Jenya (Dan) Moore, Clarion; Michael Dautlick, Beavercreek, OH; great grandchildren: Sophia and Isaac Markle; brother Louis Legros, St. Benedict and numerous nieces and nephews. At the age of 92 ½, he was never hospitalized until the last two of weeks of his life. He loved being in the Pennsylvania woods early morning to hear the birds wake up and enjoyed hunting in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. Lefty was retired from Beth Energy and was a Korean War Veteran. Member of SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Patton, John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614. Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am Monday at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Patton by the Rev. Roman Andriitso. Committal church cemetery. Arrangements are under the directions of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Patton. Full military rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614. Donations in his memory can be made to Patton Senior Center, 405 Park Avenue, Patton.
