Bill was a teacher at Conemaugh Valley Middle School and Cambria Heights High School and retired in 1997 after 30 years of service. He had been the Transportation Coordinator, Pupil Services Coordinator and High School Principal after teaching for many years. He enjoyed watching the Steelers, fishing, hunting and spending time in their special place in Canada. He was a life member of Patton Eagles, where he was an officer for 44 years and a member of the Patton Moose, Patton Legion, V.F.W., S.O.I., Slovak Club, and the Alumni Association of St. Francis University. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the people of Patton. Due to their kindness and caring, Bill enjoyed his dignity and personal freedom much longer than normally possible due to his illness. We were blessed to have the entire town looking out for his best interests. We would also like to thank his caregivers Maria Kearney of Cresson, Pa. and Maura Turner of Titusville, Pa. We wanted him to have Quality of life over Quantity and that would not have been possible without all of you. At his request there will be no viewing or funeral services. Bill asked that a Celebration of Life be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Patton. Uncle Bill, thank you for being a wonderful godfather to me growing up. Enjoyed spending holidays at your home in Patton as a child & eating your delicious chili in Canada. It was fun having you as a high school teacher as well. Rest In Peace now. Lori Crowell
