Obituary For Alvin E. Miller

Alvin E. “Jake” Miller, 87, Patton, passed away September 25, 2024 at his home. He was born July 2, 1937 in Spangler the son of Walter and Emma (Cunningham) Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Janet Ghuste and brothers David, Gary, Leonard, Kenneth and grandson Brandon. He is survived by his children Jake Miller and partner Justin Sorensen, Tammy (Lenny) Karlheim, Philip Miller, Maryann Karlheim all of Patton; grandchildren Kyndra, Merisa, Haley, Patience, Lilly, Kylee, Austin, Julia, Breana; brother and sisters Patrick Miller, Patton, Marjorie Fox, WV, Pamela (Ben) Jones, Fallentimber and numerous nieces and nephews. Jake served with the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Greenwich Colleries as a foreman after many years of service. He was a member of the Patton American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, Slovak Club, Eagles, Sons of Italy, Rembrandt Club, Bakerton Athletic Club, Patton Volunteer Fire Company, Cambria County Firemen’s Assoc., Central District Firemen’s Assoc. and served with the local military honor guard for veteran’s funeral services. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 pm Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 N. Fifth Ave. Patton. A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home, Pastor Joe Short officiating. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton. Full military honors will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.     I was saddened to hear of Jake's passing, He was a good friend who always made me laugh. He lived life to the fullest and could out dance ladies half his age! RIP my friend. Susan DiDomenico

    Great man who will be missed by many. I had the pleasure of meeting Jake almost 15 years ago and we shared many good times together in Florida his family and friends was his life and he is going to be dearly missed. My condolences go out to his family Rip my friend love ya. Tammy
