Obituary For Alice C. Leiden

Alice C. Leiden, 87, St. Lawrence passed away February 19, 2023 at home. She was born July 27, 1935 in New Germany, the daughter of Aloysius and Catherine (Bender) Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Leiden; brothers and sisters, Joan Dumm, Ed Long, Eugene Long, Max Long, Kevin Long, and Margie Long. She is survived by children: Theresa (Larry) Fike, McClure, PA; Larry Leiden, St. Lawrence; Mark (Kathi) Leiden, Cleveland, OH; Barb (Bob) Peffley, Endicott, NY; Karen (Terry) Love, Gaithersburg, MD; Tom Leiden, Ebensburg; Anita (Don) Quinn, Landenberg, PA; Jim (Maria) Leiden, Johnstown; Dave (Christin) Leiden, Aliquippa; Mary (Erik) Toth, Harrisburg; twenty grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gemma Oyaski, Denny Long, Charlie Long, Bernadette Coleman and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice spent her life as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very involved in the family business, and was very active at church, most recently as a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton. With an interest in genealogy, she researched and wrote several books on family histories. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a long time Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Family and Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1004 North Fifth Avenue Patton, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton. Committal St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Catholic Relief Services or Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton.
